How We Work

Draft. This policy describes how the site works today and is being reviewed before final publication. Items marked “PENDING” are still being decided. Questions? Contact us.
A plain summary of what you can expect from us: honest content, simple one-time purchases, minimal data, no tracking cookies, and a real way to reach us.
What Modern Philosophers is
An independent publication about attention, clear thinking and building work you own: free essays, a bi-weekly newsletter, and a small number of digital products that go deeper.
What it isn't
- Not a social network, and not ad-funded: there are no ads and no algorithmic feed.
- Not professional advice: the essays and products are educational (Terms).
- Not a subscription trap: products are one-time payments with nothing that renews automatically.
Your data, in brief
- We collect as little as we can: an email if you subscribe, sign in or buy, what you send us, and anonymous page views.
- One cookie, only when you're signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
- We never sell or share your data with advertisers.
- Unsubscribe from any email in one click; ask us to see or delete your data at any time.
Full details: Privacy Policy.
Newsletter
When you subscribe, you'll get a welcome email and then the bi-weekly essay. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can subscribe again whenever you like.
Purchases and access
- Pay once on a secure Stripe checkout page; we never see your card.
- Your product appears in your library, tied to the email you paid with. Sign in with that email (no password needed).
- Refunds: see the Refund Policy.
How to read what we publish
Our essays share ideas and experience, not instructions for your specific situation. Anything we recommend, we'd use ourselves, and if we ever have a relationship with something we recommend (a partner or affiliate), we'll say so.
Getting help
Most questions are answered in the Help center. For anything else, use the contact page: a person reads every message, and problems with access or payments are handled first. If you give us your email, we reply there.
AI
We don't use AI features today. If we add them, they'll answer only from our published work, show their sources, and never use your personal data or messages for training.
